Victoria Falls River Lodge is the first private game lodge set in the Zambezi National Park. This luxury tented lodge is situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River – so close to Victoria Falls one can see the spray in the distance!

Victoria Falls River Lodge and Surroundings

Enjoying a quiet riverside setting in the magnificence of unspoilt African wilds, Victoria Falls River Lodge is close enough to Victoria Falls for guests to easily access and enjoy all the historical town’s key activities and sights – most notably the iconic Victoria Falls itself.

Built on raised decks, the 13 luxurious tents are well-spaced and air-conditioned.  Constructed of canvas, glass and wood each extends out onto a private deck with its own plunge pool and boasts uninterrupted panoramas of river and natural bush.  Stylish and spacious, the rooms are a fascinating fusion of European and African décor, with clean lines, soothing hues and a fresh, earthy feel.

5 of the tents are family-friendly and feature an adjoining children’s alcove – with a bunk bed and single (3/4 sized) bed.  Although the bathrooms are open plan and shared, curtains may be drawn across this – and the entrance to the children’s bedroom – for added privacy.

Birdlife is prolific near the River and proximate areas and – being unfenced – guests are regularly treated to breath-taking sightings of both the flying and four-legged residents of the Zambezi National Park and its surrounds in and around Camp.

Guests are welcome to cool off in the pool between daily river cruises and exciting game drives. The lodge provides a complimentary transfer to Victoria Falls and optional extra canoeing trips, fishing and walking safaris (available onsite) may also be arranged at an additional charge.

More About Victoria Falls River Lodge

The only thing that resembles a tent in these 5 star rooms is the canvas on the outside!

Erected upon raised decks, under vast thatched roofs, 13 spacious tents have been tastefully decorated in earthy hues. All offer a larger than king size bed, comfortable sitting area, open plan bathroom with freestanding bath and both indoor and outdoor showers. Twin bedded sleeping configurations are also possible.

Each of the 8 x Luxury Tents and 5 x Family Suites also have a private viewing deck, with plunge pool, affording spectacular views of the river and surrounding natural flora and inviting guests to sit back and relax whilst watching the hippos wallow.

Family Suites also offer an adjoining tented room, with one single (3/4 sized) bed and one bunk bed, where up to three sharing children (younger than 17 years old) can sleep comfortably; allowing their parents a bit more privacy.

Standard to each ‘tent’ are mosquito nets, a mini bar, electronic safe, tea/coffee making facilities, ceiling fans, air-conditioners and international adapters to help make your stay as pleasant as possible.
