UK Celebrity couple Summer Harl and Craig Gordon visited Victoria Falls River Lodge early in June this year.

Harl, a TV-presenter, lifestyle/fashion blogger and social media influencer, is married to the goalkeeper of Scotland’s Celtic Football Club, Craig Gordon.

It was the couple’s first visit to Zimbabwe, and they fell in love with Victoria Falls. “It was one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen! We love being outdoors and the lodge presented so many gorgeous opportunities for this. It felt like we were right in the heart of it all – probably because we were! Having the lodge situated in the National Park is such a brilliant experience.”

“To see the wildlife from the comfort of your lodge decking area was so special. We could sunbathe and watch elephants come to the river for a drink. There aren’t many places in the world where you can do that,” said Harl.

During their three-night stay at Victoria Falls River Lodge, the couple went on a sunset boat cruise and three game drives.

“We enjoyed them so much. We experienced the sunset and the sunrise and saw so many amazing animals up close,” Harl continues.

While Gordon used his off-season time to give his knees a rest, he couldn’t resist to pop into the gym at Victoria Falls River Lodge. “What a view though! Looking out onto the Zambezi River was very cool,” said Gordon, who also took part in a soccer coaching session at Victoria Falls Primary School.

Harl said the trip was unlike any of the adventurous couple’s other travels: “It was different, luxurious, relaxing, exciting and special. It’s hard to beat that combination of things, and you’d struggle to find them all elsewhere. It was amazing,” said Harl. On her blog she writes: “We went on safari in Zimbabwe as our lodge was inside Zambezi National Park. It was incredible…It was all just brilliant, and I’m so sad that our travels are over… for now!”

The captions on her social media posts describe Victoria Falls River Lodge as “the lodge of dreams”, while others read: “Could have stayed here forever” and “The sun doesn’t set on memories”.

While the celebrity couple’s two young daughters did not go with on the African trip as they had to attend school, Harl said they would love to return with the girls one day.

“Our lodge had easily enough space for a family and with so much to see and do, it is perfect for families.”
