VICTORIA FALLS RIVER LODGE
Introducing Members of Our Family
Meet our team at Victoria Falls River Lodge. Committed to making sure that your visit to Victoria Falls is a memorable one.
Roddy, who has vast experience in hospitality management in Zimbabwe and Mozambique, was born, raised and educated in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Roddy started his hospitality career at Meikles Hotel in Harare at the age of 17 and furthered his training through The Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town. From there he has had further exposure within South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania until deciding to move back to his home country in 2016.
Roddy specialises in both larger and boutique hotels – all focused on the luxury traveller – and his hands-on management approach has enjoyed a successful track record of developing top quality products and services.
Born, raised and educated in Harare, Zimbabwe, Camilla undertook her tertiary education in Perth Australia through the Australian school of hospitality and Tourism. Upon completion of her apprenticeship, Camilla furthered her experience throughout the UK and Europe.
After two years of traveling and working, Camilla returned to Africa where she continued her culinary aspirations in and around Victoria Falls. This mother of two’s taste for adventure has also taken her further into Mozambique but 2016 saw her return to Victoria Falls once again, this time from Tanzania.
Camilla thoroughly enjoys the excitement and passion of the kitchen and heads up the Victoria Falls River Lodge food and beverage team with Head Chef Lloyd.
Tara’s hospitality career is actually somewhat ingrained. Growing up on a family owned and run Game Park in Zimbabwe, Tara was exposed to both local and international guests from a very young age.
It was here that she developed her love of people and a deep-seated passion for providing first class and attentive service.
A graduate of the globally recognized International Hotel School in South Africa, Tara has since gained International Management experience all the way from Cape Town through to London.
Victoria Falls River Lodge was delighted to welcome the newest member to their family in May 2018 and has benefited from her genuinely caring nature and meticulous work ethic, which shines through in her hands-on leadership style and continuous encouragement of fellow co-workers, ever since.
Born in the bustling Zimbabwean town of Bulawayo, Peter Dunning started an illustrious career in the Tourism Industry as a White Water Rafting Guide in Victoria Falls.
Part of the 1996 opening crew at Matetsi Game Lodge, Peter left Zimbabwe in 2000 for the open expanses of the Serengeti (Tanzania) followed by 2 and a half years in the desert at Sossussvlei in Namibia. In 2007, he was transferred back to East Africa to manage Mnemba Island Lodge off the coast of Zanzibar.
After 16 years with &Beyond, Peter left Africa to manage a boutique hotel on the island of Nevis in the Caribbean. Homesick for Zimbabwe and the bush however, Peter returned in 2015 to help reopen &Beyond’s Matetsi River Lodge.
As of July 2017, Peter has been a part of the Zambezi Crescent Collection’s “Dream Team” as Manager of Victoria Falls River Lodge’s new and exclusive Island Treehouse Suites – set upon the private Kandahar Island in the heart of the mighty Zambezi River.
